Thanks to the mentorship and support from Prof. Dr. Andrei Lupas, director of the Department of Protein Evolution at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology, we have established the first Max Planck Partner Group in México. Partner Groups give particularly talented post-docs who have worked at Max Planck institutes the opportunity to continue their projects in their home country and qualify for leadership posts. By way of support, the MPG provides them with pump-priming finance in the amount of 20,000 euros per year for five years. The native research organization provides infrastructure, equipment and research funding.
