Today we have received the news that our proposal for a UCMEXUS-CONACYT grant for collaborative research with James Borneman from the University of California at Riverside was funded. It is a small grant (25000 USD for 1.5 years) that will let us kick-off the agricultural microbiology side of the research group. We will characterize microbial communities of naturally-occurring agricultural soils that repress the proliferation of plant pathogenic fungi. You can read more about the project in the corresponding section of our website here.
